Enhanced CRB Disclosure
To be accepted onto our datbase as a personal tutor you must either have an Enhanced CRB certificate, or be prepared to obtain one. Individuals cannot apply themselves, but need to contact a suitable registered 'Umbrella Body'. They will carry out the check on your behalf and send the certificate to you. You then make this available to us for checking. This will cost tutors approximately £65.
The most helpful of these companies that we have found so far is GB Recruitment at www.crbdisclosures.co.uk*. They charge £53 + VAT.You are welcome of course to find any company of your own choice to apply through.
We will understand if you choose not to obtain a disclosure, it isn't a legal requirement for home tutors yet. However, we only register tutors who have an Enhanced CRB disclosure, for our tutees' protection and to make our service as professional and competetive as possible. Most parents insist that tutors have a Disclosure.
We will not process your registration form further if you choose not to obtain a Disclosure.Your details will be removed from our system and no record will be kept in any form.
